Christ’s Teachings Endure Because They Work

Rally 39 invites us to read 3 Nephi and consider what it would have been like to hear the Savior teach, witness His glory, and partake of the Sacrament in a meeting over which He Himself presided. This week also turns personal revelation into daily discipleship — the small, steady habits that help us take up our cross daily and follow Him.

Pearls For Thought With Dr. Cheesman

Most writers, historians, and theologians have recognized the value of Jesus Christ and His teachings. Although there are many religions other than Christianity, the enduring influence of the philosophy of Jesus Christ seems to be universal.

In analyzing the teachings of the Savior, each Beatitude represents a desirable virtue guiding mankind into the way of perfect peace.

Peace becomes the Pearl of Great Price, requiring vigilance and constant effort to keep and maintain. A noble character is not a simple gift from God, but a molding which requires the combination of God and the efforts of the individual.

Christ’s teachings have endured because they work. Honesty works. Cleanliness works. Forgiveness works. Fidelity works. Family life works. Service works. Peace works.

Rally #39 Reflection

Weekly Theme: Pearls For Thought

Rally 39 teaches that peace is not passive, happiness is not accidental, and noble character is not formed without effort.

This week also includes Krysta’s Daily Discipleship, building on Personal Revelation. Revelation is not only something we receive; it becomes stronger when we respond to it with daily action.

The Savior taught, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” That word daily matters. Discipleship is not only a Sunday feeling. It is a Monday-through-Sunday practice.

This week’s practice is simple: define your three daily discipleship habits. What anchors you? What strengthens you? What habit could you add?

The Savior’s teachings endure because they work. Daily discipleship works.

This Week’s Practice:

  • Which new habit could you add?

Scripture Reflection:
What does Luke 9:23 say to you this week?

Season Of Rising — Promotions & Graduation

Rally 39 meets us at a turning point in the year: promotion season and the approaching graduation of the Class of 2026.

This is a time when students advance, families gather, teachers close the school year, and communities prepare to recognize effort, growth, and endurance.

With celebration comes responsibility.

  • Watch the roads.
  • Watch the walkways.
  • Watch the students.
  • Watch out for one another.

Keep standing tall within the community. Be a steady presence. Be a friend to all.

As the moon rises over each passing night, it reminds us that growth takes time, every season has its purpose, and every soul deserves room to rise.

Final Thought — Rally #39

Pearls are formed under pressure — and so is character.

Christ’s teachings endure because they work. Peace is not passive. Character is not accidental. Daily discipleship is how personal revelation becomes a living pattern.

As the Class of 2026 prepares to rise, remember: safety comes first, character comes with choice, and community is built by how we treat one another.

Stand tall. Stay aware. Be a friend to all.

The moon is rising — and so are we.
