Watch Your Step

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank Thee for this Sabbath day and for the blessing of gathering together in peace. We are grateful for Thy Son, Jesus Christ, and for the Holy Ghost, who teaches, comforts, warns, and guides.

Please bless this meeting that we may hear what Thou would have us hear, feel what Thou would have us feel, and have the courage to follow the promptings that come in gentleness and truth.

Help us to watch our step this week, to walk in wisdom, and to carry the Spirit into our homes and our daily work.

Good morning, brothers and sisters.

Many of the most important instructions we receive from heaven come quietly. They come as a feeling to reach out, a restraint not to react, a reminder to pray, or a sudden clarity that we should change course.

The challenge is not that God is unwilling to guide. The challenge is that life becomes noisy. If everything in us is loud, hurried, offended, or defensive, it becomes harder to hear what is gentle.

Promptings often sound like peace before they sound like words. They often feel like light before they become language. The first work of discipleship is sometimes simply to become still enough to notice.

To watch our step is not to live in fear. It is to live in awareness. It is to remember that every day is made of small crossings, and every crossing can be guided by the Lord.

Sometimes watching our step means stopping before speaking. Sometimes it means turning back. Sometimes it means helping someone else steady their footing. Sometimes it means obeying quickly when the answer is already known.

The Spirit does not always map the whole road. Often it gives the next right step. Faith is trusting that one obedient step can change the whole direction of a day, a home, or a life.

C — Choose Christ.
H — Hear Him.
R — Repent and Repair.
I — Intercede.
S — Steward Body and Mind.
T — Testify in Love.

When Christ is daily, discipleship is not only a Sunday event. It becomes the pattern of our home, our tone, our choices, our work, and our witness.

The Spirit is easier to recognize when we are already turned toward Him. C.H.R.I.S.T. daily is not a slogan. It is a walking pattern.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank Thee for the Spirit felt in this meeting and for the reminders that Thou art mindful of us in daily things. Help us to leave this gathering more aware, more peaceful, and more willing to follow Thee.

Bless us to recognize true promptings, to act in wisdom, and to bring Christ into the ordinary steps of the week ahead. Let our homes become places where Thy Spirit is welcome and where Thy Son is remembered daily.
